News: Upgrades Round 2

The server has been a little flakey lately so I'm going to rearrange the virtual server setup.

The changeover will also mean that there will be two servers providing the site so it will take two failures to take the site down completely Smile

This should also mean better performance, but to be honest the site seems fairly snappy already - any comments about speed here at EJN?

For those who care I'm planning to split the current single Ubuntu LAMP up into two Apache servers and eventually two MySQL server, with something like squid sitting at the front to do load balancing. Thats 5 virtual servers - I'm thinking I'll need one more to act as a file/backup server so I'll be building 6 new servers on the new Ubuntu 9.04

Another year and this site is still going... wow Laughing

I'd like to give a very, very big thanks to all of you who have made this possible, and I have to say the best part about the site has been meeting so many wonderful people.

Heres to another year! Thank you!

Time for another meet, this time in SHIBUYA.

The Pink Cow is somewhere I've never been before, but looking at the website it sounds pretty good.

See the thread here: http://forums.expatjapan.net/viewtopic.php?p=99503

See you there!
